Essential Health Check: Adolescents

Preventive medical checkup for adolescents that allows for the early diagnosis of hematological disorders, sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis, HIV, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and chlamydia; and, through cervical cytology, cervical cancer. It is recommended that this checkup be performed at least annually to examine the adolescent's health status and maintain control through prevention.

Detects the presence of antibodies against HIV, aiding in its diagnosis.

Detects the presence of hepatitis B virus surface antigen to assess active infection or immunity.

Identifies the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis using direct immunofluorescence (DIF), useful in the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections.

Detects Neisseria gonorrhoeae through culture, allowing confirmation of gonococcal infection.

Evaluates cervical cells using staining, following the Bethesda 2001 system, to detect precancerous abnormalities or infections.
